Winters are beautiful. Also, the dry Arizona heat is quite tolerable compared to the wet, sticky heat of the Southeast. I would much rather live somewhere like Phoenix where the worst weather is heat than here in tornado alley.

*said in a Homer Simpson voice*

mmmmmmmmmm......dry heat......

I love the AZ/NV general area...I schedule my Vegas vacations in August on purpose....the humidity here is killer, it just feels like someone places a hot, wet blanket over this city for about 8 months out of the year

the bugs here seem to love it though as they tend to grow to monsterous proportions

Humidity? What humidity? Phoenix has virtually no humidity, especially compared to the Gulf Coast, East and Midwest. Phoenix is in a desert. Deserts do not get much humidity, or rain or snow. Just lots of heat in the summer, and the occasional dust storm or three. Even our "monsoon" season is a joke. A real "monsoon", like in India, has torrential downpours. Phoenix has torrential dust storms, and maybe a spritzing of rain after the dust passes.

We live in Michigan and spent 4 weeks in the Phoenix area last summer from mid July to mid August to see if we could live in that kind of heat.

105 degrees in Phoenix is MUCH, MUCH more tolerable IMO than 85 degrees and humid in Michigan. Even today, outside at my house, it's 75 degrees and the humidity is 69%. Working in my garden was SWEATY work.

Plus, you are within driving distance of the Sea of Cortez, Las Vegas, San Diego. Pro sports year round. So much to do!

We are moving to he Phoenix area in September. After the past 2 Michigan winters, we can't wait!

Or a pool? I am waiting for some hotter weather so I can dip comfortable every day after work! Life here is easy.

Default I think one adapts to the climate

I spent many years in the midwest, where they think 80 is a "scorcher". I've seen 60 below (and that's not factoring in wind chill) and over 100, and I'll take over 100 any time. Normal body temp is near that so feels good to me. We largely adapt to the conditions I think. That is, if we give our body a chance and don't go to ac right away. Humans managed in hot climates before ac existed. Some however just can't physically tolerate heat. Most I've known go to Phoenix for sunshine, warm winters, career opportunity, health consideration. I never complain about heat. I do complain about cold, snow

Yes, this absolute truth. I'll take 105 with low humidity over 85 with high humidity all day long. Literally.

Bottom line is San Diego has perfect weather. But, you're going to pay 5 or 6 times more for that weather.

Is 140 with no humidity better than 95 with high humidity?
