Ya think ?We do now ,LOL, but we were newbies!
Just used this as an example to how the higher heat in humid vs non humid environments feels-the Zoo is the constant in my heat study!

It was 116 yesterday, and 114 today. Warnings have been issued throughout the week for air quality. I hope everyone can do their part. The misery of heat is here already.

Curious.....Up here we often leave vehicles running on very cold days or warm them up for long periods.

In phoenix last june, we would occasionally leave car running outside showhome parades to keep it cool. Noticed, no one else did and people would walk by our car and we could see them looking and making comments. So we assumed it was not done there and we quit.

And I just cant get my head around warm water out of the tap. Our lines are buried about 10 feet deep to keep below the frost line and our soil is very moist (where I live) so our water is very cold all year.

Is the protocol in AZ to not idle vehicles to keep them cool?

How is that feeling unique to Phoenix? In late Spring, people get sick of the cold and can't wait until it warms up. The cold used to get on my nerves in April and I couldn't wait for the summer. It's no different here except it's heat and October.

A question for fishermen near Phoenix, do you fish in the summer, or is it just too hot? If so, do you fish at night?

I just spent 10 days in Arizona, Phoenix, Prescott and Sierra Vista. I am now back in South Carolina. We are on day 29 of at least 90 degree weather with the average humidity of 70 percent. A few of those days have been over 100. The heat index on one of those days was 129, that's not comfortable nor safe, I don't care who you are.

Only speaking for myself, I CAN'T wait to get back to Arizona, unfortunately that won't be for about 5 years. I have lived in SC for 13 years now and still HATE the humidity. And for the most part, 95 percent of the population here only goes outside because they have to when the weather is like it is.

So, do tell. What, exactly, is "our part?" This is the Sonoran desert. Summers are hot.
