Bar = adult establishment.

There is nothing more annoying than sitting in a bar having drinks while toddlers are running around like you're in Romper Room cause their parents would not get a sitter.

The last time this happened, we had 3 toddlers running laps on the stage next to us while two 5-8 year old girls swung laps around the stripper pole...Come on, really?

Depends on the bar. I took my baby... to a bar. It was no big deal.

Do you guys realize it is commonplace to take kids to pubs and the like in European countries?

WHAT part of 21 and older doesn't click here???? I fully agree, if it's a non-food serving bar environment. There are far too many ways in which a toddler can get hurt, plus it does NOT show good judgement on the part of the parent to take their child into a business where alcohol is served since sobriety and good decision making may not be present. Also, what the hell is a toddler supposed to enjoy from a experience like that?? Seriously not a smart choice, like it or not.

No, I don't think any child belongs at a bar. Now someplace that is a restaurant with a bar, like a bar and grill or something like that is different.

Are the pubs in Europe like the bars here? Trust me, if you see what goes on in bars where I live you wont want an infant anywhere near one.

Clearly.

This is per capita per year, WHO.

I should point out I personally drink rather more than the average for the US. But I don't have children.
I don't think it's necessary to get any more specific about the types of bars I was referring to. My original post was unintentionally vague.
Wow. That's weird.
