Bennett Miller's Foxcatcher (2014) lead me to watch this film. I knew that I liked Foxcatcher , but had reservations for some reason, so I moved Capote to the top of my queue and I now understand it better. His close up cuts to facial expressions, the long takes, the slowing down of the story. I have not made a 2005 top ten list yet, but I’m thinking this is top ten material – I know Joe Wright’s Price and Prejudice is there, as well as quite a few foreign films (Koreeda, Haneke, Dardenne brothers, Herzog). The cast. Philip Seymour Hoffman, one of his greatest performances. Catherine Keener as Harper Lee – who wrote To Kill a Mockingbird, and was Capote’s assistant on In Cold Blood. Clifton Collins Jr. as Perry Smith. Chris Cooper, Bruce Greenwood, Mark Pellegrino. For me, Capote brings Foxcatcher up a notch or two.

I watched Before I Go to Sleep (2014) with my daughters the other day. I enjoyed the book, but was disappointed with the film.

I Will Follow You Down - Awesome sci-fi movie with the kid from 6th Sense. Might seem a little slow for some but it was a great watch and I highly recommend it.

Horns - Not sure how to describe the movie. I thought it was going to be a light romantic comedy with some fiction but turned out to be a much more serious drama driven horror/fiction/love story. Still, it was entertaining, nonetheless.

"Nobody's Fool"

Must have bought it during my Phillip Seymour Hoffman spree. Processed, it sits in the DVD library with just a name, just a DVD number, but you know...........................

.......................I love going into a movie that I know nothing about.

I'll see this today. In my town, it's not playing at the usual theaters I go to, but one of them I have been to in the past.
