I'm really a fan of old movies from the 30's through the 60s.

Right now I am watching "The Young Savages" from 1961. It's a good one. I've seen it several times.

I watched " The Big Country" 1958 with Gregory Peck, Charlton Heston, Jean Simmons and Chuck Connors. Besides probably the best western score ever, it had iconic characters and stunning cinematography. I had to watch it again on Youtube. Remind me again how censorship is a good thing? I studied several sequences of that film and its actors. I'll watch and sit through advertising when movies they're in are on.
Nowadays westerns are only about shootouts.

Just watched The Hobbit. The animated version from the 1970s.

The dementia was, IMO, a very unflattering way to portray this great lady:

While she is still alive!!
The cinema was full of old people, haha.

Yeah I found myself bored through most of it. Kind of disappointed, really. Streep was excellent as usual, really inhabiting the character.

Courageous

Rented/watched last night. Highly religious based movie that we thought was extremely good, but are sure that others won't think so highly of it. Wife and I think that a lot of society should see this movie, but know that many will watch it part way thru, stop it and take it back to the rental store. Christians, like us, will think that this is an excellent, but long, movie!
