Albert Nobbs -- pretty simple and kind of touching; I rather enjoyed it. Glenn Close was great.

Woman in Black.

I found myself screaming in my head a lot telling Daniel Radcliffe to use his wand...

Drive...Good stuff; blood, romance, action paced in a nice ball of heart pounding thriving nerve endings. Another WOW one for me.

^That was so good, forgot Rise of The Planet of the Apes... Had some promising moments, but left me feeling flat by the end.

Shoulder Arms by Charlie Chaplin. Hard to think that movie is almost 100 years old.

Oh Wow, just finished a Netflix Instant Que selection titled

Irina Palm

"Irina Palm (2007) is a tragicomedy film starring Marianne Faithfull and Miki Manojlović. " Wiki
Irina Palm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A slightly bizarre little film with Faithful as a somewhat doudy widow with a sick grandson. The grandson has had expensive treatments, the family has hocked everything, are in debt, the kid will die, only hope is some new experimental thing but takes more money.
So.............she sort of accidently and reluctantly stumbles into work giving hand jobs through a glory hole at a sex club.

An interesting watch. Apparently Faithful was nominated for some European acting award which she didn't win. Personally I don't think the part was that hard to act.
The music was god awful and detracted from the film. Oh, and they never actually show the um goods although there are scenes of strippers in the background.
Its sort of slow but it was so different and unblinkingly real yet not real (I suppose there are old ladies out there as sex phone workers so maybe not that implausible) that I enjoyed it.
The one thought I always walk away from when watching something along these lines is that men really are an unknowable creature to me. I can imagine doing Maggie's job more than I can understand the need for it. I don't understand the men lined up for it.
