"Jackpot" a Norwegian film based on abook by Jo Nesbo. I had loved "Headhunters" earlier on this year ( also by Jo Nesbo) so I had great hopes but this was really disappointing, predictable , not funny nor witty as "Headhunters" had been. OK but more "Meh" than "Yeah!".
Terms of Endearment, these type of movies normally aren't my cup of tea but this is still a great one.
The ending still gets to me after all these years.
"City Of Conquest" starring James Cagney,Arthur Kennedy and Ann Sheridan. It ended a few minutes ago and now "White Heat" is on. Can't go wrong watching a Cagney movie...JMO.
The Black Balloon, a Toni Collette movie about a boy who moves to a new town and has to fit in while helping care for his older Autistic brother since his very pregnant mother is on bed rest. It was decent and had my favorite fashion model, Gemma Ward, in her first big part.
Beginners. Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer. A beautiful story about a son and his father who is dying from cancer. The father comes out to his son about being gay four years before he dies. Christopher Plummer won an Academy Award for this. He deserved it!
I am going to see it this week end ( may or may not "kidnap" little neighbour to accompany us) so glad to see it is good. The animation looks amazing. Animated films tend to be the only "mainstream" films I like these days.
I saw Lockout the other weekend. Awesome flick, but I found it really funny that in the opening credits there is a line "based on an original idea by Luc Besson".
Oh really, mixing Escape from New York with Fortress is considered an original idea?
