No, Glenn Close was scary in "Fatal Attraction."

Star Trek (2009)

Love this movie. Ticks me off that they're taking so long for the sequel.

X-Men First Class last night. I liked it overall but the way they shoehorned in Mystique was downright silly.

I was fine with this movie up until Magneto told Sebastian Shaw, "You killed my mother" and all I could think was "prepare to die!!!"

(Obviously I'm old and have seen The Princess Bride waaaay too many times.)

Gnomeo and Juliet. Kind of glad I have kids so I have the opportunity to watch well-made animated movies. This one ranks near the top, especially for the Shakespeare references, some of which are hidden in not-so-obvious places.

Just finished two movies

The Extra Man - one of those quirky character movies. I can like these at times but I'm always left wondering, where are these people in real life? I never run into any. Or is that the point?

The Extra Man is a 2010 comedy film based on a novel by Jonathan Ames. The film is directed and written by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini. It stars Kevin Kline, Paul Dano, Katie Holmes and John C. Reilly.
A failed playwright, Henry Harrison, develops an odd mentor relationship with Louis Ives, a troubled, cross-dressing, aspiring writer to whom Henry sublets a room in his New York apartment. Henry teaches Louis the art of being an "extra man," accompanying and entertaining wealthy older women in their fanciful social lives. Along the way, Louis encounters an environmentally conscious co-worker, Mary Powell, and a jealous, eccentric neighbor, Gershon.

Quite a few familiar faces in it. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 2 stars. It had some tomato reviews FWIW.
I basically watched it see what Kevin Kline was up to.

From the Foreign Film thread I ended up watching Show Me Love which I didn't particularly like. Middle class teenagers being irritating.

Just watched The Gold Rush by Charlie Chaplin. I had forgotten how much I like that one.

The Help. Loved the book. And the movie did not disappoint. I hope it wins all the awards it's nominated for.
