I've seen three excellent movies this week: "Argo," "Silver Linings Playbook," and the last one was "The Impossible." I saw "The Impossible" yesterday when I was already tired after a sleep-over with my granddaughters. That movie was intense, disturbing and quite moving, and I left the theater totally drained and with a tear-stained face.
I have no idea how they filmed that movie with such realism! There were parts that were so graphic that I had to turn my head. I could almost feel the pain the characters were going through. The acting was superb. I thought Jennifer Lawrence was great in SLP, but Naomi Watts' performance was phenomenal. Either one get my vote for an Oscar.
Even the young boys in this film were excellent actors. I was quite impressed throughout, and continue to be awed by how this family manages to find each other after they're all separated by the tsunami and the circumstances that followed.
We watched this weekend from home,,Main Meri Patni Aur Woh'' by Rajpal Yadav. Was okay, but I really liked the lyrics...,,Ghuncha koi mere naam kar diya''!
For Almrausch and anyone else into Indian movies: I'd recommend Trishna. Not a happy, joyful Bollywood movies. Loosely based on Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbavilles---poor girl meets wealthy guy. Nicely done.
