ZERO DARK THIRTY. Fascinating how the girl figured out where Osama was hiding. On another note, there were lots of interesting Trailers. Looks like some really good movies are on the horizon!
Watched Looper. Ending reminded me of twelve monkeys. Also ending was a little depressing. I'll give props for not having a typical hollywood ending though. But in all I liked it. Its one of those movies I need to watch once. I won't be buying it anytime in the near or remote future.
Dredd 3D: Excellent movie. Gritty and violent. Didn't go into a grandiose or sweeping story. Seemed more like a day at work for Judge dredd. Something I was hoping for in a movie. On a budget of 50 milliion looked pretty good. Too bad it lost money. I was really hoping for a sequel. You never know.
How could I go wrong with this cast?!
Mel Ferrer
Glenn Ford
John Huston
Sam Peckinpah
Shelley Winters
Lance Henriksen
with Franco Nero as Jesus
and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as himself
Wow, right?! Wrong!
The Visitor aka Stridulum (1979) ~ This is AWFUL! I'm not sure there's a single redeeming moment except for maybe Franco Nero looking diivine. The only thing I can say is that this is better than "Tentacles", which also has an impressive cast. I must say that the poster looks cool except that the image appears nowhere in this movie. THIS channel does dig up some obscure ones, and this was tonight's offering. Yeesh! At least I have a "worst film" to add to another thread because this film definitely must rank among rank films. I hear the longer cut makes more sense, and I think they might have that at YouTube. I might check it out once I recover from this viewing. I guess the bird swarm is kind of neat, too.
