Lincoln, which I saw this afternoon was terrific.

I also saw Silver Linings Playbook last week, and it was also very enjoyable, with a terrific cast.

Rented The Thing (new one) and Seeking Justice. Both were alright, entertaining enough. I would give 6/10 for Seeking Justice and 7/10 for The Thing.

Also got The Man From Nowhere (Korean action/drama) which blew me away...wow! If it is your cup of tea, I'd say a must-see!

I LOVED this crazy movie! I am in the mood to watch it again. Totally unpredictable, and the acting was perfection. OMG that Brad Pitt character...but then, I don't know which actor was best cast, they were all so good in their parts.

Did you see Bandits? That movie reminds me of Burn After Reading. I thought it was really funny and well done as well.

No I haven't. From what you have said about Burn After Reading, I consider you to be a very reliable source. I will check it out for sure. Thanks!

I saw a doubleton - Silver Linings Playbook .. then Lincoln.
We actually enjoyed Silver Linings better!
Lincoln felt a teeny bit too preachy and somewhat emotionally manipulative. I could always tell in advance when we were going to get a dose of "sublime-ness" in the music and then the noble-words followed on cue.

When the credits rolled I saw that Speilberg directed. Figures.

(p.s. I sure hope Tommy Lee Jones was heavily made-up!)

Just re-watched Only Yesterday. I like it a little more each time I see it. Isao Takahata is a brilliant director, IMO.
