I just did the math for the thing were in the jeep the girl was asked, "If i gave you 1 penny on the first day, 2 on the second, 4 on the third, and just kept doubling it, after one month, how much money would you have?"
He says over $10 million i believe
And what I got was (after 30 days) $10,737,418.32
31 days - $21,474,836.56
F. Murray Abraham, Frank Langella, and Geoffrey Rush have something in common, "Theater"!!! To portray the Machiavellian cunning so intensely as if they're still on stage is a highly valuable skill, and really pays off when they’re performing on screen. They have been honed to deliver in a continuous moment, while taking care that portrayal remain integrated internally.
Most of the Hollywood films nowadays lack the sophistication it once held in the industry.
Brilliant. Wow... very well put, Ans! You've gotten it. Hadn't thought of it from that angle. Now that I think of it... all my fav actors are from stage... the ones mentioned, Tom Wilkinson, Kevin Spacey, all the Ians (Holm, McKellan, Bannen, there's another I'm leaving out), Michael Gambon, Brian Cox, John Hurt, Bill Nighy, Gary Oldman, Jim Broadbent, the Feinnes crew, many Irish actors (too many to name... Colm Meany being one of the best from the IR Nat'l Theatre) & several American Broadway actors I always see in "bit parts" & know are from the theatre by listening to the movie's commentary. (Note: The George Clooney film "Michael Clayton" has a handful of great US stage actors... specifically one who plays his cop brother & the lad in the beginning of the movie who was involved in the hit & run. I've seen both on stage... brilliant.)
Even Al Pacino is a great stage actor... I could tell you stories via friends who praise him... whether you like his movies or not, he is a great stage & movie actor... many don't know he began on stage & it is his true love, hence Shakespear in the Park each summer.
