The Indian film Gulabo Sitabo (2020), just released to Amazon. It's about the residents of a run-down mansion leasing rooms from an inept property manager. For some reason the subtitles were very hard to follow, maybe because the dialog was so fast-paced. Only ok.
A briefcase with undisclosed contents – sought by Irish terrorists and the Russian mob – makes its way into criminals' hands. An Irish liaison assembles a squad of mercenaries, or 'ronin', and gives them the thorny task of recovering the case. #3 in my all-time personal list of the best car chases ever filmed.
Galaxy Quest (1999)

Believing the cast's heroic on-screen dramas are historical documents of real-life adventures, the band of aliens turn to the cast members for help in their quest to overcome the oppressive regime in their solar system.

For the new head of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, the war becomes personal when he discovers his well-educated daughter is abusing cocaine within their comfortable suburban home. In Mexico, a flawed, but noble policeman agrees to testify against a powerful general in league with a cartel, and in San Diego, a drug kingpin's sheltered trophy wife must learn her husband's ruthless business after he is arrested, endangering her luxurious lifestyle.
Last night I watched "Spotlight" on Netflix. It is a fantastic, powerful film. Especially if you are (or, no, were) Catholic. It's also a great story about how journalism is really supposed to work.
One of the best movies I ever watched i rewatch it periodically, did this weekend via ppv cable.
The Globe's work here was incredible. I subscribe as long before this scandal, I treasure teams like spotlight-which are true journalism.
I did discover via googling Father Paquin the ex priest who consents to questions and who was raped, served 10 years in Massachusetts last decade for abusing boys, and just began a 16 year term in Maine last year, at age 76.
We-ll........got to have my 80s! Best to watch this one some late, dark Saturday night. Other than that, though.......ever see "Slave girl from beyond infinity"? That flick is much, much better.
Gone With The Wind -- DVD I have owned for over 10 years now, give or take 2.
And with no trigger warning! Oh my, oh my! I think I will have to destroy the disk.
