There are about 3 elements that we are still missing and the most important one to me is a shopping district. I can really see the old Press being converted into a 2 level shopping arcade.
Agree, we need something to attract more people other that food and drink.

Also, I wonder what the two restaurants are that are being opened? I know an italian place called Osteria Nofino was supposed to open, but has kind of gone silent.

The ice cream place is a rolled ice cream shop as well.

On Conception, the other restaurant being added is a "50's-Style Diner".

That place has been ready to open for years it seems...

The diner will be called "Truman's Diner" I believe.

Is there something going on that is keeping them from opening or is it just a mystery as to why they aren't open?

No idea really. The owners seem like they are pausing for some purpose. They host catering events semi-regularly so we know the kitchen is functional...

It's owned by the Gambino family and it suppose to have been a replacement for their former restaurant that was on Hillcrest.

Unless it has been sold recently, Osteria Nofio is owned by the gentlemen who own OK Bicycle Shop.

Really ? Maybe it's been sold because 2 years ago or so the waiter at Pizzeria Delfina ( owned by Gambino) said it was theirs.

It is certainly owned currently by the OK Bicycle Shop gentlemen, so perhaps they purchased it from them?
