Port City, where exactly on St. Louis is that 'St. Louis Street Technology Corridor' rendering posted up? Do you know anymore about it?

The building you see behind the parking structure at Temple Lodge will be six townhouses, built by NAI Mobile, the same developer.
Welcome to the Mob - Town forum !! It's right in the proximity of St.Luis and North Joachim street.

Here is a link to a profile showcasing the development with three views. This link is where the photo Dr. S. posted is from. Here it is. However it is nothing brand new because it has been up at least since last year when I first saw it on there.

By the way, as an update on the Waterman Building, it was purchased by a Louisiana developer who has finished numerous jobs using historic tax credits in several cities in Louisiana - turning most, if not all, into residential buildings. So, it seems folks in Merchants Plaza will have a lot of new neighbors across the street.

I didnt know that the Waterman Building was purchased or even for sale. That's great news, the lobby of the Waterman reminds me of an era of 1940's exquisiteness. The dark green( if I'm not mistaking) marble floors, walls, and ceilings with a gold trim.

10 and 12 S Conception St.
10 and 12 S Conception both have new business tenants according to the Architectural Review Board's latest meeting agenda. It's not clear what the storefront at 10 S Conception will be, however it was made clear 12 S Conception will be a Sno-Dash, a rolled ice cream and sno-cone shop chain which has another location currently in West Mobile.

Gulf City Lodge
According to Kevin Lee's latest column in the Lagniappe, Gulf City Lodge at 601 State St. could have a new enthusiastic owner. Robert Isakson Sr., owner of Lafayette Land Company, has a history of impressive historic renovations including Rue Toulousse and The Chicory Building in New Orleans, as well as current renovations for Iron Hand Brewery and the Hannah Twin Houses in DeTonti Square. The buildings storied past, built during Reconstruction, as a brothel in Mobile's once Red Light District, and then purchased by the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks of the World in the 1920s and used as popular haunt during Mardi Gras, all the while hosting jazz and blues even to this day, seems to have inspired Isakson's vision of it becoming a historic music venue much like the Steeple.

Good news about Gulf City Lodge! As for 10 S Conception, I have heard that will be a Yoga studio.

I've always wanted to know where Mobile's Red Light district once was, I thought it was near Conde' but now I know. The city should reconstruct the Red Light district. Not as the former district of French prostitutes LOL but as a district of cultural arts especially around music. Mobile has a lot of underrated music talent. The Red Light district can be a district that's specifically for that.

Here is a little history on the Red Light District : http://www.mobilesredlightdistrict.com

Does anyone know what's going on with the Gayfers building on the St Emanuel Street side ? I saw some construction and a gated area on that side of the building.
