Awesome ! That spot has been void of life since the lost of the old building. What are the plans for the adjacent buildings ?

I believe I read that Peavy is making the adjacent buildings into a "Musician village" with entertainment space(s) and places for musicians to stay while recording down the street, etc.

Iron Hand Brewing's Zoning Variance was granted for their new home in Detonti. Another brewery for downtown!

Crescent Theater building (and an adjacent building) for sale... I'm questioning this timing.

Lagniappe is reporting that Max Morey (the Crescent owner) is shelving his fundraising efforts to move the Crescent, and for the time being, the relocation of the theater.

Unless redevelopment is in the cards, what else could possibly go into the site? It's a blow to Dauphin Street and the film community here in Mobile.

Now if it's a theater he is looking for, would Rouse be willing to sell him the old Bel Air cinema? It's been vacant for close to two decades, but it's a central location with the opportunity to expand (wasn't it a twinplex?) Then there's the long-vacant googolplexes at Springdale and the old Carmike on Government, but they are overkill for what the Crescent is.

On their FB page many have commented that the owner of the building raised the rent to a substantial amount to get another tenant in the building.

I just can't see the Crecent outaide of downtown. Hopefully there is another spot on Dauphin.

I don't either. I think this building owner is trying to make the rent look more impressive with his buildings now on the market.
