It was in 37 and sunny when i went for my walk. Glorious today, not sure what temp.

Also I've found the cold seems to linger around for longer. April and beginning of May used to be nice, but these days they just seem cold.
I swear, for quite some time now, it has taken longer to cool down and to heat up. I remember as a kid there were many cold days in November. November and December were usually pretty chilly. Thanksgiving was always cold. But a lot of March and definitely April were warm - - especially in April, most days were very pleasant and you could sleep with your windows open. (This was a little further south, but I've seen this same phenomenon throughout the east coast and midwest.).

Now, a lot of November is relatively warm, and we often don't even wear coats on Thanksgiving. Even December is usually not that cold. But it seems like Spring takes forever to arrive. At best, March will have a couple of nice days, but more often, it is still cold and we might still get a snowstorm significant enough to close school. And I'm dying to break out the light sweatshirts and cotton shirts in April but it's almost always still cold. It's sometimes even still cold in May. I'm always itching to plant my outdoor planters in May, but usually I have to wait until June.

We live in Norfolk - Franklin - Bellingham area and our son with his family lives in Gardner - Ashburnham - Winchendon area. It often feels like two different states. They usually get so much snow!

We're supposed to ski this weekend, but the overnight low between Friday and Saturday looks to be about -19. We'll see how much time we spend out there.

I recall the games in the winter Olympics require 0 F (-18 C) to protect the athletes.
Definitely don’t go skiing this weekend.

It's basically the same event that happened in December over the great plains. A fast drop of arctic air, than back to warm-ish.
With such a quick drop and recover it probably won't be too terrible for plants.

We'll probably end up spending most of it inside (and at least ski Sunday), even if it wasn't dangerous, it's certainly not going to be comfortable. Though I will say, I do have more insulation (both natural and in the form of outerwear) than the average Olympic skier.
