I'm referring to the latter...which is Chinese-owned...so I believe that's what Timber is talking about, but we'll let him weigh in.

The only takeout we've done is things we can heat to a virus-killing 160F at home before eating it. We haven't done Chinese since the place we use near my girlfriend's West Hartford apartment closed but there are lots of things we could order at the Chinese place we use in South Dartmouth that wouldn't get wrecked reheating it. I drove a couple of linguica pizzas to Connecticut on Sunday late-afternoon in a foil thermal bag. That's unobtanium in Connecticut.

It's due to lottery ticket revenue and taxes on alcohol and cigarettes.

The only thing we've been actively avoiding is sushi since it's raw. We've done Pizza (both Leone's and Dragon), Gyros (Opa), Thai (Dakzen), and Chinese (Dumpling Kitchen) without touching them up in the home oven or stove top (though that is a good idea). The only one I'm hesitant about is Opa since they roast the meat on the spit and I'm not sure the outside is 160, but we've been willing to gamble on that one. Linguica pizza is a great thing to bring with you, and the pizza reheats well enough in a hot oven at home. Dragon in Somerville does linguica as a special occasionally and it's excellent. Almost every grocery store here has either Gaspar's or Amaral's chourico and we have it at least weekly on egg sandwiches (or occasionally a chourico hash). I'd be hard pressed to move to an area without it.

Also, deliver to your door and window pickup for local breweries has been great. We're not drinking a ton, but we've picked up at Lamplighter in Cambridge, and done the curbside delivery from Channel Marker (did that this afternoon). It's a good way to support these local businesses that have been hit pretty hard.

The state gets something like 17% sales tax on all recreational marijuana sales.

Irresponsible comment.

Knowing his tastes (via his posts) and location (Prov), I’m assuming the beer hall.

Was there not long ago and it would be a shame to see it close due to the seizing of our economy - great spot. Really interesting interior space as well.

The US now has more cases than Italy. We will probably surpass China tomorrow.

I can see passing individual countries in Europe since our population is greater, but passing China makes me question China’s data even more now.

US has completed half a million tests and accelerating. The state of NY has conducted more tests than many countries have. That makes me suspect counties with lower numbers simply aren’t testing enough to capture them all.
