The two 7-year olds are one hybrid, one full remote.

3 year old is in day care 4 days a week.

The hybrid program is in person 5 days a week, but dismissed at 11:30am each day.

Ours are completely remote. Averaging 30 minutes a day of live lessons. This is not education.

Meanwhile my wife teaches all day at a private school and our three-year-old is in preschool five days a week.

Our teachers' union can go get stuffed. They won't get any support from the majority of the town after this.

The one I have in school (1st grade) is in person 4 days and remote on Wednesdays. Higher grades have one cohort on Mondays and Tuesdays, one on Thursdays and Fridays with the cohort that is remote watching the cohort that is in person.

The school worked really hard to get K+1 4 days in person, which I think is the age group that benefits the most from in-person learning.

Is there a source showing what each city and town in the state is doing with their schools? I tried a Google search and didn’t find anything.

Why is Massachusetts relaxing restaurant restrictions (bar seating, groups of 10 seated) just when cases are increasing?

A spot check of it looks like it’s quite out of date. It’s not picking up a bunch of towns that started fully remote and are transitioning to hybrid.

Not a good idea. It's the one mode that's been proven to increase transmission. I just think Baker's under a lot of pressure.

I think it's a very difficult situation. Business restrictions reduce mortality and morbidity, but they also can add costs and strangle revenues. Unemployment is still very high and in travel and hospitality, the impacts have been particularly high. Trillions of dollars in support money for those affected are being spent.

Wherever possible, I think they need to keep businesses operating, but emphasize mask wearing first, and then social distancing second. You can still make money if your customers and employees are wearing masks, but many businesses are ruined if they can't even come in the building.

The threats to physical health versus the threats to business and personal financial health are not easy to balance, and there are no easy answers.
