That is 569 cases reported today, which is different from 500 daily cases. We have not had 500 daily cases in months, and the rolling average is significantly below that by any standard used.

Unless you are reacting to short term rises or dips, the numbers have been very flat for months. They seem to not to be able to get below a certain floor, but there have not been spikes either. I’ve not seen any satisfying explanations or predictions.

Don't be surprised if the 120 cases at Providence College cause a spike in MA.

Latin America is getting hit very hard. Even when we have a vaccine it could be years before the rest of the world.

Then the logistics of delivery

I think immigration is going to slow further and we might need another amnesty like in '86

No! We don't need another amnesty.

If we have no immigration to the Coronavirus for years we're going to have to do something. Not all places are growing and the birth rate is quite low. Companies don't want to deal in places where the population is shrinking.

It’s going to be a while until we need to worry about Boston’s population sinking. That being said do people really even want to come to this country anymore ? Particularly during corona and all these race wars. Not the best place to be at the moment.

I'd actually agree. I mean, I am 61, and there have always been problems - I can't recall any time that didn't have them (when I was adult enough to know what was happening). But these days seem *really* bad. I don't know where this is going, but it doesn't look like it's anywhere good.

Businesses always like comping. That is selling more. Even if it's just a small bit they want some growth. There's power when millions of people the same age do something. It's no wonder that baby boomers caused the Mustang to skyrocket in the mid 60's as they just got their licenses, colleges in the 70's, houses in the 80's and retirement plans in the 90s etc.

Since 2008 the birthrate nationwide has been quite low. That lower generation is 12 now and in six years will be 18. In a sense from age 5 to 18 spending at least 13,000 per student per year that's nearly 170K we say per immigrant.

Take a look at some town annual reports and look at the past decade. To many it's been a lost decade. Either no growth or lower populations. Even if it's the same that ten year shift can be the difference to a business in the way of customers. It's going to hurt the country if we cannot find people. The recourses would be add tasks to other jobs, automate, outsource or just don't do.

We're getting way off the coronavirus topic again!

Anyone else shocked at the high case count yesterday? Do we think we're seeing the impact of the off-campus parties in Greater Boston yet?

Not shocked at all.

We're not getting through this until there's a lot more dead, and lately it's been like watching a deadly car crash in slow motion. It's going to take us another 6 months to get to 500k dead at this rate.
