I won’t say that each day has been a shock but this has been kind of crazy on the MA area. I had no idea what would happen then all of a sudden biogen employees were coming down with this thing, my kids school closed, I’m working from home and now it’s paralyzed lower income cities which aren’t too far from me. I’m in Roslindale and there are many cases of it here. So i won’t say I’m shocked every day but yes life has been turned a bit upside down. So no it’s not dramatic.

I'm shocked that every day I see that we seem to be living in a failed country, a failed state, with fractured leadership and little continuity as a nation. My own life is pretty stable but I'm still quite shocked by the depth and breadth of the fractures, for everyone else and for my nation. I don't think that's dramatic, I think it's realistic.

Worth Repeating.

The new state health department dashboard linked earlier by mdovell is very good. The charts of deaths by age will hopefully be sobering to people. Despite media proclamations to the contrary, it really is almost exclusively very old people and those with pre existing conditions being impacted by the virus. It seems to me the death rate for people under 40 is actually lower than the annual flu.
I think is at least a week late to call MA a hot spot given deaths peaked on the 15th.

We dont have a lawyer here posting so discussions will be disputed. If a right can be suspended then its not a right .

As in terms of the one size fits all I mean that all of massechusetts is locked down along with most states. yes there are differences in small restrictions from state to state. As a other poster brought up if people knew that rural areas where open then people would flock to those areas to get the services or freedoms they are looking for then over populating those areas that are not restricted.

Yes every state has different details on the restrictions but for the most part we closed down a huge portion of the united states.

I am worried they will use these shutdowns and restrictions even after the virus is over. Gun shops for instance are closed down which is a violation of the second amendment. A lot might not be worried about loss of rights but there are people who do worry about a police state. There are alot of people even on the left that are worried about loss of rights.

Where in the second amendment is retail establishments to sell guns mentioned? Or the right to buy them? My copy doesn't have that.

I feel terribly for people who’ve lost someone to this or who have lost jobs because of this. It must be truly frightening.

It has not got that bad yet but in a time of people out of work and disease spreading looting could be a concern. so instead of saying whether they should be open there certainly can be a case to protect your family from a dangerous looter .

One can only see that line after a healthy dose of cheap liquor and 10,000 hours of Mark Levin.

Ha! I recommend those people barter some cattle to their local gunsmithy for a solid flintlock muzzleloader, something the Constitution might have actually been referring to. And if you want to do spring Turkey, make sure its atleast a .775 caliber or smaller.

I had to laugh at your joke. this is massechusetts. I dont think you can walk down the street with a gun in a holster because the cops would be on your ass so fast. In texas i believe they kept gun stores open. Pay a visit to the texas forum .

The US Supreme Court decided that gun stores were protected by the second amendment in District of Columbia vs Heller, summarized here https://harvardlawreview.org/2014/04...arms-commerce/
