Myocarditis reporting rates were 40.6 cases per million second doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines administered to males aged 12−29 years and 2.4 per million second doses administered to males aged ≥30 years; reporting rates among females in these age groups were 4.2 and 1.0 per million second doses, respectively.*** The highest reporting rates were among males aged 12−17 years and those aged 18−24 years (62.8 and 50.5 reported myocarditis cases per million second doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine administered, respectively).

Per million second doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine administered to males aged 12–29 years, 11,000 COVID-19 cases, 560 hospitalizations, 138 ICU admissions, and six deaths due to COVID-19 could be prevented, compared with 39–47 expected myocarditis cases after COVID-19 vaccination (Table 2). Among males aged ≥30 years, 15,300 COVID-19 cases, 4,598 hospitalizations, 1,242 ICU admissions, and 700 deaths could be prevented, compared with three to four expected myocarditis cases after COVID-19 vaccination. This analysis did not include the potential benefit of preventing post-COVID-19 conditions, such as prolonged symptoms and MIS-C (6,7)."

The doctor in the video is concerned for a reason plus he is using v safe data not corrupt CDC data. I heard the heart does not recover good from myocarditis but will investigate this tonight. The liver recovers easily the heart not so much. One doctor said there is no such thing as mild mycardioitis you are dealing with the heart

Are airlines enforcing that people be vaccinated?

Has anyone's office pushed back the return date or made them go remote again?

No announcement yet, but speculation/scuttlebutt at my new employer is running high that the return to the "new normal" scheduled for September will be postponed. Doesn't seem like the best time to go back to regular office routines - just when the pandemic is surging, kind of out of synch, in my opinion. Of course, Mass is far better off presently than some of our southern states, but the problem is clearly getting worse here too, and we don't yet know when it will turn around.

United, Frontier, and Hawaiian have mandated vaccines for employees. Thus far, no airline has mandated vaccines for passengers.

Hmm. So it doesn't seem like much is being done to stop the spread at this point.

I understand that there's a possibility that Pfizer gets full FDA approval at some point this month.

IF that happens, I think you'll see just about everything require proof of vaccination by the end of the year.

Not officially yet but there are rumors the Sept date will get pushed back.

We did reinstate the mask policy this past Monday. Most of the office was doing it voluntarily anyway

Lord, I hope you're right. This is getting extremely frustrating to see how we've plateaued, and having to combat the antivax craziness from all corners (not the least of which, on this forum).

As of writing DESE is not allowing virtual learning in public schools in mass. This is a bit contradictory because the original reason for it by former governor patrick included too sick to come in.

I'm all for masks but when you have hours of wearing one you need a break. I've seen manufacturers openly saying these aren't intended for more than four hours. So you have to give the kids a break at some point outside which is harder to do once it hits winter. If a kid actually gets sick while in public schools with the vaccines and masks like to the point of being in a hospital you'll see a push to bring back virtual. Right now about 14.3% of cases are with children.

Salem is saying it expects 100,000 during halloween so the masks are back in public buildings even if vaccinated. At this point if an employer wants back to the office and has spent ample amount of time and energy to prep their buildings it only makes sense to ask for vaccination. Now if they still have to wear masks I have to wonder at what point would they simply just say stay at home. It's hard to argue that you need face to face communication with a mask on when you can understand them with zoom.
