Before our next snowstorm comes lets do this. I made an update to the Weekly Top 30 snowiest Climate Sites in the U.S.

  • Caribou with a big week as well with 14.4" of snow this past week..but remain in 4th place.
  • Portland Maine with a huge jump. 17.3" in past 7 days pushes them up to 20th spot this week vs 26th last week
  • Lets welcome Albany and Worcester into the list. They received a foot+ of snow this past week.
  • Welcome Rochester, NY into the 100" club.

I was wondering how Erie stood now......wow!! I have a feeling that Caribou will pass Syracuse and Marquette.
Thanks for the info.

Wow, ok... Interesting that many sources I've read claim that the coastal areas downeast have more a wet rather than a snowy winter. This has been the complete opposite it seems over the last few years. The 1 ft+ snow events seem commonplace.

They are sitting next to a giant tub, full of 40 to 50 degree water. So that moderates their temps.
They get a lot more ice and sleet stuff than interior Maine. Also more rain (most years).

We got 14 inches in BH last week, which is down to about 8 inches in some places. But now another 14 coming.

I’ll probably need to snow blow half way through the storm since my blower is only 18 inches high, and I’m supposed to have a party group coming from my wife’s book club on Wednesday PM. They all drive Subarus and like to drive in snow, so if the roads are even a little passable, the ladies will come.

I ran out of ethanol free gas and had to go into Ellsworth to Coastal Energy to get some more before the next storm. The wife freaks out about not being able to get out, so I have to park the Subbie down near the road just in case I have to tank it out through everything.
