Mount Washington just experienced a 162 MPH gust. The commercial radio station tower on top of Sugarloaf just blew over. Old timers would have said, "Kinda drafty out." The Subaru Forester was rocking coming up the interstate.

The Mt. Washington Observatory recorded the highest wind speed during the winter of 1934 @ 231 MPH until Cyclone Olivia in 1996 @ 253 MPH in Australia.

We can see the Presidential Range on most days.

I believe Mt Washington broke the February record with 175mph gust yesterday.

The office is buried.

Worst white outs I think I have ever seen. Gusts up to 50 mph and lots of loose snow.

We are now ahead of 2007-2008, snowfall-wise.

You guys ready for more? crazy. Tomorrow evening its just the south coast that will get grazed with snowfall.

Then Sunday night is the bigger storm. A big coastal. And you know what that means. Probably 5"+ for most of the state? We'll see.

FYI... it took till March where Southern New England and other areas got their biggest snowfall since November. Not even sure we'll beat November still. Crazy

Southern New England was certainly ripe for a decent snow. I'd imagine we're about average snowfall for the year here, 75-80", but we haven't had a double digit snowfall here all season. All nickel and dime stuff.

Current Snow Depth.. this is spot on for here. How is it for you guys?

I have 3" on ground still in the Sunny/Shade mix areas.

Just checked: Caribou.. 44" snow depth! Bangor with 11".

The 45" on the 5th-7th is the 6th deepest snowpack for month of March.
And 11 days this month over 3 feet is 3rd most. Today will be 12.

1955 had 25 days over 3'
1963 had 26 days over 3'.
