Having that much snow in mid-November is pretty rare.

48 degrees and dropping at 3 AM. August weather is here. We sometimes have frosts in August. A few years ago we had snow at the Springfield Fair on Labor Day Weekend.

Currently, here, in Aurora, ME....
Sunny...65F Degrees...Dew Point 44F Degrees...Wind NNW 4MPH..
Forecast: Sunny with a high 77F Degrees and a low of 50F Degrees...

Another lovely day here at Birch Meadows Farm! Wondered how the weather could be better than yesterday!
Fed our amazing tomato plants (this year we planted and kept them in buckets, indoors by windows, until mid-June - then, carefully transplanted them in the ground with their excellent soil), cucumbers and peppers...Since we're working 60 hours a week, for the second Summer at the bakery, we've cut back on our extensive vegetable and flower gardening hopes and dreams...Still, appreciating what we have and realizing there's nothing like sitting in a chair under the shade of an apple tree (salt-shaker in hand), while feasting on fresh tomatoes and munching the rest of our bounty, in daily salads at work!
Hung out most of the laundry on the clothes line yesterday and look forward to hanging the sheets and pillowcases today...So restful to inhale the fragrance of the country air, when one is physically exhausted before slipping off to slumber!
We sat outdoors, last evening (and there was rarely a bug that was biting), as the sun set and the gloaming approached and faded, we listened the frogs begin to croak, ducks finding food in the lower pond and the birds across the Meadows bid each other goodnight...
Ahhhh, Summer!
Hey! Enjoy your Sunday and make memories that keep you warm, when the leaves begin to turn, fall and the air is filled with snow!

Weather was fabulous the for Bar Harbor Garden Club Tour yesterday, at the quiet side of the island. They did very well. My wife was in charge of it.

I didn't realize it was this cold yesterday morning. Wow.

Yesterday's min temps in Maine.

"The 31F at Estcourt Station, Maine, also qualified for coldest spot in the lower 48 states"

"Caribou, Maine tied record low last night of 42 degrees that was previously set in 1997!"

5:30pm Temps July 25th. Warmer in Maine than NYC.

Last time Boston stayed below 70°F 2 days in a row at the end of July was back in 2000 (26-27). Before that was 1986. (30-31). Definitely a special pattern.

6am Temps. I can't imagine what 30s and 40s in July feels like.

Northeast wind here this morning. Feels like Fall with the rustling of leaves and a storm nearby. A summer NorEaster.

One of the coldest last week of July on record around here. Took 6 days to pass 80°. Lolol

Currently, here in Aurora, ME...
60F Degrees..Dew Point 53F Degrees....Winds North 3MPH, Partly Cloudy...

We walked across the Meadows today...Jon raking mowed grass into piles to place on his compost for the vegetable garden...whilst I found the wild roses amongst the Birches and transplanted them in the new flowerbeds I'm creating in front of the house....
We sat on the front porch and ate our Supper of pizza (purchased from our local store - where I used to work), waved at folks who drove by and watched the Hummingbirds and their antics at the feeder.
It was a day of wonder on the farm...a day together!
