Now that you say wood violet, I wonder if you have cleared up the mystery of what is carpeting the ground around our house. Are these adorable blue flowers with droopy heads wood violets?

Actually, I believe those are Lucerne Blue-eyed Grass! It's a groundcover - does it have a little yellow dot of an eye (actually it is not blue eyed hehehe)? They look to blue for Wood Violets and their leaves look like grass!

I believe that's possible too, especially if they are fragrant!

Ouch, that's painful. We had a little snow 3 weeks ago and that was bad enough.

This is that magical time in Maine between mud time and fly time. It looks like it is going to last three days this year.

Check out some more snow pics from Vermont and New Hampshire with this storm. Wow.

The storm is currently off the coast of Maine (what else is new, been saying that all winter, just imagine it was February.)

Once it leaves we start warming up! Enjoy Summer towards end of the week!

This heat is disgusting and I do not approve. What happened to Spring?

Least it should return soon.

This is why I am glad I live in northern Maine. I can't take the heat and it is supposed to be in the 90s downstate today. In May! I can't function at that temp (especially if it's muggy).
82 right now in Caribou.
