Its heating season, and they know they have you by the balls.

I no longer have oil heat but I’ll never forget the last time this happened in like ‘08 or whenever that was. It sucks. It really sucks. It damn near crippled me.
gas isn't any better. Gas might be even worse than oil. Experts says if cold snap persist for prolonged periods, it will be California level of energy mess. This will impact electricity as well

100 therms at today’s rates would be about $173 with taxes fees etc. that’s the same as 72 gallons at $5 a gallon that’s $360. Even if gates rates doubles and they won’t because nat grid has contracts years in advance gas is still cheaper.

You can't argue with oil slaves.

Few oil refineries closed due to covid so limited capacity to make any kind of oil, it's probably not that profitable to refine heating oil with so many switching over to natural gas over the years so you pick up on overhead costs

You can blame all the the idiots thinking electric and solar is our immediate future. Sure, EVENTUALLY it should happen, but we shouldn't be forcing this on us immediately. Get used to high prices and shortages with the current administration. Keep voting for these morons, and this is what you get.

AND to add insult to injury, the oil you are buying now was purchased on the spot market last year for considerably less! Call it greed to be honest and to be politically correct the laws of supply and demand do come into play.

I’m so glad we decided to buy a wood burning stove insert to put in my fireplace years ago. At this point wood is cheaper than oil. Looks like we’ll be using it more this winter.
