I have been a Casino Manager for several years and those emails always impress me. Its just a suggestion.
Try it what have you got to lose. I gave my 2 weeks notice today and they aren't too happy.Good luck everyone.
I usually do send an email, but did not want to seem to pushy with city center. I also know the position I applied for had the most applicants.....I really do hope I get to work with all of you at city center

I strongly agree with Yankee NY, unless you already have sent an email a short while ago, you must reinforce your interest for the position.
It is not pushy (again, unless you have done so already) it shows you are motivated and will set you apart from the others that are simply waiting by the phone or can't contact their dpt manager directly because they did not get their business card. Don't say you want an answer, just politetly say you are inquiring about the status of the hiring process. Tell the manager what you bring to the table, so of speak and why you are the best candidate. I do that all the time. It is a must if you don't want to get lost in the the crowd of applicants.
Good luck...

I agee, too!

Butterfly69, if you're fortunate enough to have your dept. manager's card that interviewed you, I'd suggest a quick and simple email as NY Yankee Fan and DS90034 have suggested. You're obviously very charming, Butterfly69, so I wouldn't worry about coming off too pushy. It throws your name out there, at the least, again and that can be a very good thing. It also gives you the chance to express your enthusiasm for the job and CC.

I think that anyone in a similar position should do the same!

Good luck!

Hi, I applied as a cocktail server at first, and had a interview with department manager. I think she was from Mirage. I have been a food server but I never officially was a cocktail server though my restaurant had a cocktail bar. She told me clearly she can't hire me as a cocktail server because of my experience. I insisted I still can learn, and I have experience serving cocktails and stuff...but she proved me how I don't know anything about cocktail...like i dont know how to call the orders to the bartender at the service bar..etc..

basically she said it will be crazy when it's open and they can't train me without any cocktail background...

then she forwarded my resume to one of the restaurant job in Aria.
I got the rejection letter for the cocktail server as i left the career center.
so,,, i think you are still qualified. you have experience in Cali. They will tell you if you are not hired just because you are food server.

Good luck

Airics,

Do not EVER be embarrassed about any job. You are out there trying to make a living and should be commended. Hold your head up high and keep hanging in there.

My brother works at the Bellagio, room service. He told me that most of the people in his department turned down jobs because they would either loose the seniority, or they were offered a part time position.
