I agree, however it behooves everyone to check and keep an eye on their credit regardless. Speaking from experience applying for a job or not.

I don't know if this will ease anyone's mind, and every casino property is different, but I currently work for a Tropicana casino property and when I worked in the HR department we did do credit checks, but it was only for people who were working with Title 31. I'm not sure if it was a company policy or a Nevada Gaming policy but Title 31=credit check. Basically cage/cashier and casino accounting employees. I'm sure if you don't know what/or have never worked with Title 31, they're probably not going to run a credit check.

and Scully, I'm still waiting for my call on an admin position as well. Open/Active this entire time so I'm trying to stay positive.

I was offered a position and my credit is not good at all. Family Medical bills. No bankruptcy on file but my score is pretty low. It is also due to the fact that I have never owned a credit card and bought all my cars outright without having to deal with payments. I am also not in an area of the casino where I deal with money so that may be it as well?

I think you're right. I have been working in the gaming side for a few years and my credit has been pulled for almost every time I have applied for a new job. Steve Wynn said once that he'll do credit checks because if you can't manage your own money, how can he trust you with his.

That's funny becuase I worked in Restaurant and Show Reservations for Wynn for quite a long time and they never checked my credit. If they did I would have never been hired. Because I have no credit line at all..lol.

I guess Wynn didn't check all his employees..We took credit cards over the phone in that position and delt with large amounts of money all the time..
