what are you applying for? and let me tell you ,this is how it always happens................if you going to sit and wait, you will never get that phone call.you have to busy yourself with something else........

cause waiting is not going to help.

just put it behind you and think it;s like a normal day......

if they call ,they call if they didn;t...............that means,,,,,,,,,,,,they probably dont; have all the information yet about each person.

There are 3 of us who applied full-time and got part-time so it definitely isn't a mistake it's just they filled the other slots already unfortunately. I am in a bad position in that I work full-time currently albeit for bare minimum wage where part time at Aria could be equal to my current full-time wage.... I will likely look for another part-time job on top of this one to ensure I am not left out in the cold on it :P

Applied middle of june from out of town. Phone interview week later, 1st interview end of june, 2nd interview middle of aug. Nothing since.. No drug test.. Nothing.... Moved here right before second interview have 3 years in casino cocktail position but not in vegas how about you? Oh forgot to mention my status has remained active throughout entire process... Called on monday and from what the rep said, they are doing hiring in person over the phone, hoping to have it done by oct 1st, they say they are sending out rejection letters, and i was also told that it is up to the managers discretion who gets drug tested but i did read on the application process that it is mandatory drug testing for applicants of mgm properties. I asked if you haven't received a drug test are you still in the running and was told yes but i don't know if i believe it. Best of luck to all

Good Luck to you as well, where are you from? I have taken the drug test, and my status also remain active as of now. When i spoke to a cc rep was told I was still being considered. When are they sending out rejection letters? I was also told if you don't hear anything by oct 1st or mid oct (from one cc rep) that your app may be considered at another mgm property. Do you know of any internal cocktail server transfering over and who did you have your last interview with, do you remember the name?

To be honest I don't think any bartenders, apprentice bartenders, and cocktail servers have got any offers yet. I do know some people that got offers for food server positions

I have not been called yet. If I am called, and offered a part time position, I will most likely decline if they cannot guarantee how many part time hours I'll be working. That would be too much of a risk for me.

Not only do I have a plan B, I have plans C, D, and E. I'm a fan of the game of chess, so I know it's important to have other options in position. I've actually already spoken with the chef for plan B, but that process is turning out longer than I had expected too. Good thing I suppose, since CC still has me guessing.

I must admit that I will be sad to see this thread leave come Oct 1st. I feel like I know you all very well now. Butterfly is a great cheerleader always sending positive reinforcement. Airics has become a cc and MGM expert on rules and policies. Jim Carter keeps us current on the latest news and media coverage about cc. Joieboy is entertaining and keeps us laughing...and...you gotta love "the las vegas drunk" (I think the name says it all:-)LOL.

Some say it was stupid what I did (making 2 trips across the country), but I don't regret it. My personality is very ambitious like that. I feel better knowing that others were just as hopeful. Thank you all for posting your experience, but please don't let cc become your obsession. There is a world of other opportunities waiting for awesome people like you guys!
