I think KMart is now in that former Venture store just north of I-70 on Noland.

I purchased my first digital calculator in 1971. It was a Panasonic desktop model that had an electric cord but could also be powered by nine D cell batteries. The calculator would only add, subtract, divide, and multiply and was a whopping $250. There was no paper printing the amounts so I usually had to do every calculation three times and compare the result by hand, chuckle. But it was a miracle machine that I had to have. It had its own case that had a handle for convenient carrying around. The technology sky rocketed after I made that purchase.

Oops, My Beloved and I ventured out today, and noticed that the Apple Market is now Cash Saver.

I think you're right as I was trying to picture where Venture was and couldn't outside of where K-Mart was. Venture must have been there first.

Kmart was originally back there on 40 and Noland.

So where was Venture then? I'm confused Was there more than one site? Or was the sequence K Mart, Venture, K Mart again?

A Hy-Vee grocery store, an Ace Hardware, a large filling station and sundry other stores.

It seems like I remember a "crazy" something or other store at 40 and Noland before the Kmart. Also wasn't there a Holiday Inn just west of the Noland and 40 intersection on the north side of 40? I used to get out that way after I got my driver's license in 59 to go to the drive-in. And, for a couple of months, I worked at Stephenson's Old Apple Farm restaurant which was just down the road a couple of miles at Lee's Summit road.
