This is off topic, but this World Juniors roster is a scathing indictment on how garbage of a recruiter/coach Don Lucia is.
10 Minnesotans on the team, and only 2 play for the Gophers... I can understand losing a couple to UND, or a few Northern Minnesotans to UMD, but when 8 of the 10 are from the metro area and all you can muster is 2 that is just terrible. Woog would have gotten 5+.
On a side note, Mittelstadt is looking amazing.

Sweet comeback in Orchard Park yesterday! Always a treat to knock off Canuckida! Mittelstadt is an assist machine, and that Brady Tkachuk is always around the net. Both of those guys need to add 20-25 pounds of muscle to their frames and they'll be primo NHLers.
I agree about Motzko. Sick of seeing Lucia's teams blow leads and continually lose to inferior talent teams like Ohio St. I still can't get that Michigan game out of my head from a few weeks back when they blew something like 3 seperate 3 goal leads. What is that???
the recent announcement of the members of the US Olympic Hockey Team is further evidence that the State of Hockey has lost it's premier standing on a national level
number of players from each state...
5 - Massachusetts
4 - Pennsylvania
3 - New York
3 - Michigan
2 - Minnesota
1 - Connecticut
1 - Arizona
1 - Colorado
1 - California
1 - New Jersey
The ladies team however does have a pronounced Minnesota bias...
7 - Minnesota
3 - Massachusetts
2 - North Dakota
2 - Wisconsin
1 - New York
1 - Maryland
1 - Idaho
1 - Illinois
1 - Wisconsin
1 - Vermont
1 - California
1 - Michigan
Parise back in the lineup tonight at the X vs. Florida.
Let's hope he makes as big a difference as we need him to.
Couldn't watch much of the game but what I saw he looked like it was a welcome addition to the lineup.
FL 5 game win streak snapped last night.

I don't read too much into it. It could be politics - some of the national teams lately have had players from areas as weird as Texas, Arizona, California and I believe maybe even Oklahoma-born in recent years.
The game is definitely growing but when it comes to NHLers per state, in my opinion Minnesota is still clearly the top of the mountain.
