SO ... all that compost material that I've been carting to the dump? I can cart it TO MY HUGE BACK YARD and make a compost pile there! I am going to start that THIS WEEK.

When you started your pile, did you put anything down on the ground first or just start dumping stuff there?
Haha, nice discovery! Awesome. Nope, nothing special, I'll throw cardboard down underneath sometimes then just keep throwing things on top.

After adding grass, leaves, and horse manure the pile gets taller so I'll start to turn it every month or so. Probably not necessary but it does speed up the process by introducing air into the pile.

So my advice, find a spot big enough for 2 piles but you'll only be having 1 pile shifting between the space as you turn it.

Also… keep it moist inside so on super hot days I'll just throw the hose on there for a minute

Glad I brought all my plants inside.

They wouldn't have died but at least they were comfortable inside.

Some areas near me in the 30s.

Azaleas blooming

Shaded Azalea obvious

I been slowly Separating plants to give away, they are ready for the ground in a couple days with 70s/80s coming

That's a beautiful azalea. Would you happen to remember the name of the red one?

I stick them in the ground and then forget what varieties they are lol. Mine finished their show over two months ago. I keep buying different types to extend the time frame of the show but they still bloom earlier than they are supposed to.

I am in zone 9 and I have had a few 'late' freezes that should the azalea show some years.

Look for ENCORE azaleas as they rebloom.

I have some encore and Dejabloom azaleas. The Deja Bloom seems to prefer my conditions better than encore (bushier, more flowers) but imo nothing beats the show put on by spring bloomers.

I tried native (deciduous) azaleas but they struggle in my heat zones the colors and scents of the native ones are so beautiful

Guess what time it is...……

PARTY TIME. Transplanting has begun

Something new I am trying, Earthworm castings. Tomatoes are in. 15 tomatoes in a 4' x 8' space. Little tight but I'll prune them

Naga Joloki Pepper root ball.

On the left I have the topped off Pepper plant, on the right is same variety not topped off. You can see how much bushier the topped off plant is while the non topped off plant is taller but has blooms.

OH UH.. Call the police. I put a tomato plant next to a Potato plant.

This is how they looked before they got put into their new homes. Funny I don't even have Bell Peppers and Eggplants here, they never germinated well.

Apparently great. I found out my Vitamin D was very low (20) and as soon as I started taking Vit D supplement and magnesium and B complex my life turned around and I am getting no pain or issues. Knock on my firewood!

Thanks for asking.

What a time to transplant. Hit 88° today. At least its dry. Dewpoint in the 40s. But I was worried about the young plants feeling the hot air and sun for first time

Hard to grow greens. Too cold too hot.
