You know I understand that the media has to play up Bernie as a threat, and he will have some faux momentum if he does win Wisconsin, but if he wins by like 5 points, how many more delegates is that? 2? That doesn't make a dent in her lead. He needs to start winning states 65-35 and he's only doing that in caucuses.
Not sure where that came from, but its incorrect. State website is below. The Sanders campaign had multiple registration drives around here leafing to the March 25th deadline.

That site confirms that the deadline was in October:
Quote:
To vote in the upcoming Presidential Primary, you must be a registered Republican or Democrat. For already registered voters, any change to party enrollment was to have been requested by October 9th, 2015 in order for it to have gone into effect and be applicable for any primary election occurring in 2016 or beyond.
There are 2 different dates for 2 different things. If you were already registered, but not as a democrat, you only had until Oct. to change your registration to Dem to vote in that primary. If you were unregistered you had until March to register and pick a party.
Its also worth mentioning that the New York Dem registration deadline was in October of last year when few people knew about Bernie.
And? What does that have to do with anything? Everybody knew there were elections coming up in 2016. If some people didn't meet the deadline to simply change(!) their party affiliation then that is their problem. This is a closed primary anyway.

But many people didnt know they would vote for a Democrat by October last year. Huge numbers had never heard about Bernie then. You would think that the party would welcome new people into the party. This is the earliest registration deadline by far and I dont see why they couldnt have the March deadline for all registered voters.
Sanders has won all the contests where voter turnout has been high so far. It makes sense to reduce voter turnout if your candidate wants to win.
