As the election gets closer they will both get most of the remaining out vote. I think Trump will get a little less than she will. However, the margin in Texas is so large he would still win.

Remember all the gleefully breathless "OMG! Trump is gonna get such a super bump from this!" anticipation from the Trumpkins after the Orlando shooting?

That really underscores their complete and utter detachment from reality.

Support for Donald Trump has plunged as he has alienated fellow Republicans and large majorities of voters overall in the course of a month of self-inflicted controversies, propelling Democrat Hillary Clinton to a double-digit lead nationally in a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

In a head-to-head general election matchup, Clinton leads Trump 51 percent to 39 percent among registered voters nationwide, the poll found.

Donald Trump’s Support Collapsing
Trump seems to have a hard to understanding that the shock moments he makes while speaking don't have as much effect during the general election that they did during the primary.

It's a hard thing for him to process since he's new to politics.

All he knows is he holds huge rallies and is constantly surrounded by passionate, adoring fans for whom he can do no wrong. It's hard to comprehend that doesn't mean all or most people are going to vote for him. He still thinks the press and "the libs" hate him but most everyone else still loves him because his rallies are YYYUUUGGGEE.

The mindset among the Republican base is not the same as the mindset in the general. Right now folks live in 2 separate worlds... one where the United States is being led by a secret Muslim communist bend on destroying the country while we twist on the throes of a economic catastrophe and witness the crumbling of American society as we know it. The other were we've recovered from a potential major recession and have made progress on multiple economic and social fronts... but still have some work to go, and basically need to stay the course with some more progressive minded adjustments. Trump's approach works well for folks leaning towards one mindset but does absolutely nothing for folks living in the non-catastrophe version of the world. LOL

This post is a perfect encapsulation of what we see on this board on a daily basis. Very nicely summarized, and spot on.
