I don't know if I ever saw rain that heavy. It was nuts. And the hail? Yikies! And today it's all sunshiney, as if *that* never happened.

Well its official (I think):

For the only the 8th time in the last 142 years of record keeping…the largest city in the USA (NYC) has recorded a monthly mean temperature of 80 F (27 C) or higher. NWS Central Park ended July 2011 with a mean temp of 80. 2 F…so it just sneaked into the top five hottest months of all time. This means the top five hottest months of all time look like this now at NWS Central Park:

1. 81.4 F – 1999
2. 81.3 F – 2010
3. 80.8 F – 1955
4. 80.3 F – 1952/August 1980
5. 80.2 F – 2011
6. 80.1 F – 1993
7. 80.0 F – 1908

For those tired of the heat in the Tri-State area, keep in mind that that the 80.0 F monthly temp is the normal, monthly mean temp in the summer or hot season in cities like Brisbane, New Orleans, Miami, Darwin, Hong Kong, …etc.

Looking Forward:

The heat is done for NYC northward. No more consecutive 90s. Temps should slowly drop in trend even though we just started August.

We will have an average 2nd half of summer and a cool fall. Foliage colors should be good this year.

Pattern has changed and unfortunetly Tropical systems and Nor'Easters become a threat now.

I'll post some stuff on this when I get a chance.
