Hartford would be too far inland for this one. I'm still seeing between .11" - .20" liquid. So figure 1-3".
The Closer to the coast, the more you'll see especially New Haven Northward.

Cool site that shows precip dots based on the NAM model. Notice more precip in Bridgeport than Windsor.

Bottom 2 are White Plains and LaGuardia. Notice the Rain to start in NYC.

.40" at 10:1 ratios would be 4" of snow

NWS seems to be saying 1-3" for most ending around noon tomorrow with possibility of more in eastern CT (and ending later there).

No Changes to models overnight so expect snow to start this evening and continue till tomorow after lunch. Highest totals will be over New London & Southern Windham counties.

You can see the players here on the Satellite. The red circle is where the 2 Jets will phase together. Little too far North and West for a big storm to bomb out south of us. Thats why Boston will get more then us this time. The storm will strengthen too far north.

I just love how the media is hyping this up saying "Winter Returns!" ITS 1-3" PEOPLE. gees. We got more with the January 21st storm. But I think they are seeing the overall area in general and the systems in play.

Upton saying 12:1 ratios inland. and 6-10:1 near coast. Low chance that a heavy band will setup for Long Island and Southern CT for a 6" total.

Quote:
HIGH PRESSURE EXTENDING FROM THE TENNESSEE VALLEY TO THE SOUTHERN MID ATLANTIC COAST WILL SLIDE EAST AND REMAIN SOUTH OF THE AREA TODAY. WEAK LOW PRESSURE OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS WILL THEN ALSO ADVANCE EAST...REACHING THE SOUTHEAST STATES TONIGHT...MOVING OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST EARLY SATURDAY MORNING...AND THEN PASSING SOUTHEAST OF LONG ISLAND SATURDAY AFTERNOON

EXCEPT FOR BRIEF PD OF ALL RAIN OR A
RAIN/SNOW MIX IN NYC METRO AND COASTAL SECTIONS AT THE
ONSET...PRECIP SHOULD BE MOSTLY SNOW AS BL TEMPS COOL FROM MELTING PRECIP ALOFT AND DEVELOPING LIGHT NORTHERLY LOW LEVEL FLOW.

BLENDED QPF FROM THE TWO MODELS AND APPLIED SNOW RATIOS OF 12 TO 1 INLAND...AND 6-10 TO 1 FOR NYC METRO AND COASTAL SECTIONS WHERE SFC TEMPS SHOULD REMAIN ABOVE FREEZING. THIS SHOULD YIELD A SOLID ADVY EVENT...WITH 2-3 INCHES FOR THE GREAT MAJORITY OF THE AREA AND 3-5 INCHES FOR INTERIOR SE CT...MOSTLY FROM LATE TONIGHT INTO SAT MORNING. THERE IS STILL AN OUTSIDE CHANCE THAT PARTS OF SRN CT AND LONG ISLAND COULD SEE HIGHER SNOW TOTALS VIA A COMBO OF MESOSCALE BANDING THAT SETS UP NW OF THE SFC LOW AND OR COLDER TEMPS THAN FCST...BUT THE PROBABILITY OF 6 INCHES OR MORE ACCUMULATION IS STILL TOO LOW TO WARRANT A WINTER STORM WATCH.

IN FACT...WITH MOST OF THE PRECIP FALLING LATE TONIGHT INTO SAT...HAVE NOT YET ISSUED ADVISORIES ANYWHERE...BUT THEY WILL LIKELY BE ISSUED THIS AFTERNOON TO COVER TONIGHT-SAT

I hope it's not like the last snowstorm, where they predicted something like 3" and we got over 9". But at least it's warming up later next week.

I know. It can go either way. They can say 6" and we get 2". 3 things we dont know until it happens.
Last Minute Track change
Where the heavy snow bands set up
Atlantic moisture influence

Yes. Still happening. After a light mid week Valentine event, next weekend Big storm still there. BUT... Its a flooding rain to start changing to snow type deal as of right now.

Current radar. Snowing in tennessee and Kentucy right now. lots of Gulf moisture feeding into it. The snow over great lakes is from the Cold front sweeping down.

I'm fine with 2 to 4 inches like their predicting, I'd still be able to get to Danbury. Anything more then 6 I risk my car getting stuck on that hill at Western Connecticut.
