From FB Page.

Once again I cant stress the importance of preperation. Whether it happens or not!

I wonder if I started a new Topic here on todays Storm, if some of the people on the Merrit today would have saw it here and prepared not to take that road.

Anyway .. I knew to stay away from that road...ESPECIALLY A FRIDAY!

well bethel was at 6 inches in my garden an hour ago and its still falling.
wunderground.com has upped the estimate for my zip at 6-9" total, dont know how reliable wunderground is in general but given i shoveld 6 inches and hour ago and its still falling at a good rate (though we did have a lull for about 1/2 an hour) and id say theres another inch over what i shoveld before...

itll be interesting to see where this ends up, and what tomorrow brings too as im hearing snow showers tomorrow.

as the above post says about danbury, bethels in a messy place too, roads are hellish around here, side roads are just plain covered and main roads were a musshy slippy mess last i checked.

ive got frineds in milford, waterbury and further up the 84 corridor who all think im lying about the snow...lol, it didnt start in hamden untill about 4 pm, been snowing at a good rate here since midday lol.

My dh just had to go pick up our daughter. A friend was bringing her home, but after driving round and round for nearly an hour, between icy conditions and stuck cars they could not get up any of the roads around our house. We live in a hilly area. We got about 6" of snow so far, hopefully that's it.

Editing to say maybe we're not done after all, it's snowing really hard again.

Yeap..look at the radar...not sure where you are but the cut off was around Clinton and Northeastward.

Dont worry, its coming...maybe not as much but everyone in the state should see snow.. and tomorrow too.

Then we get to see it again Wednesday.

Light blue is .75 liquid so because temps wil be near 33 the snow ratios will be near 8:1 which means 6 inches for light blue areas. Looks like I'm getting 3-4 inches according to this. Im Right at border. lol

Depending where this narrow heavy band of snow sets-up expect generally 3-5inches widespread. This storm is different since the heavy snows are NOT widespread...The band will be 5-10 miles wide only. But if your town is caught in this band expect up to 10 inches of snow to fall with a quarter mile visibilty.

Think of the lake effect bands you always see pictures of upstate NY. Thats what it could be like if you are in this band.

Snow should start Friday morning 8am. Get heavy around 4pm. End late night. Afternoon commute could be a mess!
