Big storm line came crashing through. It is pitch black here in Wally World. Will not stop pouring and has been for about the past hour.

Not sure what time you're talking about, but the map I posted above didnt have a storm over Danbury at the time... and zooming in closer as that storm moved east, I can see why you might of got nothing from it. It went north of you. There was even blue skies over Topstone and Redding. 3:05pm Radar

But this is why we need ground troops 100%. Thats why I always love to hear everyones OBS's. There's only so much a radar can tell you.

And speaking of radars. It's not that complicated. A big satellite dish sends a signal out into the atmosphere and returns anything it hits on the way. The thicker the debris is(rain, hail) the stronger the colors will be. Sometimes a flock of birds will come up but then be gone on the next update.
It was the weather channel radar to street level. Usually its accurate..had red right on top. Might have been off. I did notice the NWS radar had it slightly north.

I saw some clouds with vertical motion. Pretty amazing. Just had downburst of 30mph winds, downpour, and heavy lightning/thunder. 1.07" for the day. .68" last half hour.

I've noticed this too. In fact I have 4 different apps on my Android phone (Weather Bug, Weather Underground, Accuweather and the Weather Channel) and lately the radars at any given time are different on all 4 (as well as vs. the map on OKX's website).

Global warming?
Yea today was the first time I noticed it so much. The NWS radar was consistently showing storms just slightly north of the weather channels.. May have been my imagination?

Look behind the front...

I'm not sure how far the actual cool down will drop but right now those areas are like 15 below normal being in the 60s. And the dewpoints are DRY!! NWS BTV and Albany mentioned 40s in spots for their coverage zones.

I think we'll just see mid 50s inland 60s near coast tonight. Tomorrow 70s.

There are going to be many of these front coming through but the Ridge will battle all of them and put up a fight before we feel the benefits of a pattern change for the cool down. 1 front at a time.
