No, actually the jackpots in the state were New Canaan and North Haven. So no, you don't have more in the Hartford area. In fact, much of the Hartford area didn't even get over 9".

You also don't have the east coast version of an LA freeway: I-95.

But again - what point are you trying to make? The fact is that several miles of 95 was littered with stranded vehicles. It was bad early this morning with several inches of snow on the highway - very bad actually.

Not sure what you are looking at but Eastern Hartford and Tolland Counties got the most snow from this storm. I have over 20 inches at my house, my wife's center in Glastonbury has over 20, Stafford got 19 etc etc and "official" totals show more as well.

Jan 26-27th storm snow totals | WTNH.com Connecticut

The bottom line is, you said "the highways were impassible" And that was not accurate. Maybe *one* stretch of 95 had problems, but the rest of the state hummed on by without a hiccup.

You're quoting me wrong:

I-95 was impassable, as was 15, as were portions of Route 1. "Roads".

According to your link, the lowest total in Hartford and Tolland were 8" and 9". Lowest in Fairfield was 12". Glastonbury was not 20", according to your link. It was 17". Machester wasn't 20" either, it was 14".

rt 1 and i 95 are also in new haven county thank you...

i do think though that for some reason southern nh and much of ffc just realy do suck at plowing, our roads here in the danbury bethel area are still realy messy and its 2:20...there is no reason for the roads to still be that messy at this time in the afternoon and this is common after every snow storm weve had...while the rest of the state seems to be moving along fine down in this corner and along the coast its like the plows take a snow day...

What do I have to post a friggin picture? My snowblower is 24" high, the snow was 2 inches lower. I said my wifes center has over 20 My wife has to measure the snow at her center for snow removal budget tracking. They had 21.

We got more snow up here, get off your stick.

Yeah, who cares about a 10 mile jam-up on 95? It's not an important highway or anything like that.

Wait...what was the problem on I95?
"Not many truckers seemed to heed the ban; a truck got stuck on I-95 in Darien bringing traffic to a standstill."
OMG! Run for the hills, the highways are impassable due to 4 foot snow drifts!

THIS is "impassable"

The news this morning showed that I-95 was impassable. There were cars and truck all over it that were stuck. The state even banned truck from using it for a time and closed entrances. It was a mess. The Hartford area did not get hit as bad. Channel 3 kept going back to I-95 while I-84 around Hartford was ignored. I got about 12 inches here in Glastonbury. I know from people I work with that it was worse to the south and east. Either way it was not a great storm and some parts of the state got hit worse than others. Jay
