All I've got to say is holy crap. Started to drive DW to work in Stamford and there was a good 10-15 mile stretch of 100+ stuck/abandoned vehicles going northbound in Milford/Bridgeport. People standing and walking on the highway. Turned around at 5:45 in BPT and took Route 1 home.

Way to go, Gil. 4-8" my *****!

Yes. Roads weren't just crappy, they were impassable.

Hardly. People made it to work. I'm out in a few minutes to get my wife to her center. This isn't Lake Tahoe. I can't stand this either, but the drama is a bit, well, dramatic. I hear they are issuing an avalanche warning.

Does anyone know the totals? I'm in West Hartford and it feels like more than a foot (but, then again, I've got short legs).

It was a good year for snowblower sales. Most manufacturers sold out their entire inventory by mid-January. It's nearly impossible to find one anywhere in the entire northeast. All this snow pack should lead to strong demand for lawn equipment and garden tools in the spring! Soon there will be daffodils.

Go read my post above. I-95 north has hundreds of stranded vehicles. That's considered passable?

Just because you don't like the idea of the thread doesn't mean you have to come in here like a raging bull.

In Branford I'm guessing about 17".

The differences in the impact of the storm vary wildly throughout the state. Here, just west of the notch, looks like about 5 or 6 inches. Southern Connecticut, definitely a different story with the problem being amplified by the fact that I-95 is one of the most heavily traveled roads in the country. On a good day it's often a headache in the am.
