I’ve always thought Columbia Place Mall or Richland Fashion would be best suited for a Great Wolf Lodge. This is in the same family and could instantly boost the area with the amount of people that would flock there. Two Notch or Broad River rd could both use a revitalization project like this.

Yeah Columbia Place actually would be the most viable as all of the anchor stores (except Macys) are owned by the County. I think they are putting a call center in the Burlington/JCP wing but the Sears and Belks ones may be fair game...

I live literally around the Corner from Columbia Place Mall. a lot of houses over here are renovating. We bought our house several months ago for 98k but it's worth around 105k. many of our neighbors are renovating and refurbishing. I can imagine if something like a Great Wolf Lodge open up this area's land value will skyrocket quickly

I would worry about parking at Columbia Place. I expect they would need great security for any nice installation there. Heck, they would need heavy security during construction to keep supplies from walking away. I know the Methodist Church there had to move the AC units to the roof because neighbors were stealing the copper.

I’m assuming you’re referring to parking your vehicle and leaving it because there is an abundance of parking over there lol. That would be a temporary problem because that jolt to the economy in that area would affect every thing around there including decker. New businesses, hotels, restaurants, and more attractions would surely follow if something like that were to go over there. The amount of tourists roaming that section would bring two notch back to life and then some.

I would hope it would. It is just so depressed right now. I imagine if it was revitilized it would be a lot like Atlantic City. Glitzy Casinos and Hotels one block from the scary area of town down Two Notch and Decker.
Black professionals finding refuge (and doing well) under the wings of (metro) Columbia. Changed the quote that Mayor Benjamin liked to reference but I like this about my home city a lot. Good to see.
My parents live in an all brick neighborhood in Irmo where prices were and still are selling well in the 200’s. It was refreshing to see Nate (an engineer) to the right and Mike (retired Military) to our left when coming home from school. They’re still there.
I mention this because Columbias highest ranking is #5 for housing opportunity.
