Notre Dame is a much better team than K State and Oregon.

Notre Dame would have no problem beating K State.

Notre Dame would also beat Oregon though this would probably be a little closer game.

I am not sure if Notre Dame can beat Alabama.

Notre Dame and Alabama are clearly the best 2 college football teams right now.

Notre Dame vs. Alabama would be a great matchup.

Ok.........evrybody keeps raving over the Irish because they are undefeated. And that is a great thing. But I still see this as a false-positive.

Look at their schedule:

They still will be exposed once they leave the confines of their homemade schedule they have evry year. They kinda bounce around and never play the same team twice during the season (which is always harder to do).

Overtime win at Pitt?? seriously?

They play Navy every year?? Wake Forest??

They never play one team twice a season, like other schools do!

Once an SEC team gets bite, it'll be over.

Oklahoma nodded.....Norte Dame is a good team. You cannot nod on a good team. But they are not a "great" team. Sorry..........

Name one school who has played a team twice in the same college REGULAR SEASON. Hint: Conference Championship is NOT a regular season game.

Oh they aren't "great" huh? Name another undefeated team in college football eligible for the postseason? By the way our strength of schedule is HARDER than either Alabama or Georgia. By the way how often do teams play twice in the same year? Not very damn often so I'm not sure why you're here trolling the ND thread with your "facts."

Oh by the way while we are playing Pitt, Wake, and Navy (all BCS level teams by the way and they come from AQ conferences except Navy) some of the other top teams were playing Towson, Tennessee Tech, Georgia Southern, Western Kentucky, Western Carolina, Jacksonville State, etc. You know FCS teams.

Georgia Tech???

Auburn??

Your post was so horrid it deserves two responses.

Notre Dame is 2-0 against the Sagarin top 10, whereas Alabama is 0-1 and Georgia is 1-1. Notre Dame is 4-0 against the Sagarin top 20, whereas Alabama is 2-1 and Georgia is 1-1.
So don't say the Irish haven't been seasoned by a schedule every bit as difficult – no, more difficult – than the SEC top dogs. And they've had far fewer games where they just had to show up to win.
[Related: Florida beatdown of FSU reinforces SEC dominance]
Five of Georgia's 11 victories are over objectively terrible opponents – teams ranked 80th or lower nationally by Sagarin. Alabama has four victories over teams ranked 80th or lower. Notre Dame only two.
A lot of people point to the Irish vulnerability against the likes of Purdue and Pittsburgh as evidence they are Not SEC Tough. But Georgia fans who white-knuckled through scary wins over Tennessee or Kentucky – two teams so disappointing they fired their coaches – know that a good team can struggle on a given Saturday. Alabama is the only one of the three to dispatch overmatched opponents without a peep of protest.
The myth perpetuated by SEC fans is that every week is such a bloodbath, nobody from outside the league could withstand the grind. Yet in the month of November, the average Sagarin rating of Georgia's opponents was 70th. After opening against Michigan, Alabama didn't play anyone in Sagarin's top 30 for the next seven games.
Notre Dame didn't go more than three straight games without playing a Sagarin top 20 team.
SEC rout of Notre Dame far from guaranteed - Yahoo! Sports

Yeah there's just no way Notre Dame could survive Georgia or Alabama's "brutal" schedules.

I think he/she has been watching too much basketball.

As far as NDs strength of schedule... I always thought they put together a pretty decent schedule otherwise they would not hold up to ranked opponents like they do and have done. Granted they don't seem to play the SEC enough if at all, but they seem to play the best of the PAC 10 and other conferences.

To get on ND for playing a few cupcakes... wow! This makes them unique?

Conference teams often play many of the same teams every year. Notre Dame beat 9 bowl eligible teams this year. Alabama only beat 5.

Final opponent records:
Notre Dame: 79-62 or .637
Alabama: 70-72 or .486
Georgia: 71-71 or .500

If you want to talk final records of only teams they beat:
Notre Dame: 79-62 or .637
Alabama: 60-70 or .428
Georgia: 61-69 or .442

# of teams beat with above .500 records:
Notre Dame: 7
Alabama: 4
Georgia: 3

Also, you talk about Notre Dame needing overtime to beat Pittsburg who finished 5-6. Georgia barely beat a 2-10 Kentucky team.
