That Oklahoma win went to our head...can't believe we won but also can't believe we played so lousy...better get our heads on straight...with LSU choking its really gonna hurt our chances getting into the NC.

From what I've seen watching Alabama, you had better hope that ND doesn't get to the NC game. The Crimson Tide will not be as forgiving as a Pitt.

ND needs to somehow get K State. Bama or Oregon will run them by 30.

Yeah but Oklahoma wasn't going to be as forgiving as BYU or Purdue and yet we still won that game. I'm not saying we'd crush Alabama but there's a big difference, and a long time in, between the NCG. We'd have 5 or 6 weeks to prepare for that game and we've shown up in our big games this year.

No one ever thought Oklahoma was on the level of Bama and Oregon. It was ND biggest win in decades probably but it's smoke and mirrors to think they are on the level of Oregon and Bama.

Love or hate ND, they sure are polarizing. I don't watch much college ball, but I've never heard so much local coverage dedicated to a college team before (granted Im in Chicago). I wasn't around in the ND power house days, it must have been even crazier then...

Thought I'd revive this thread to mention that Notre Dame is the new BCS #1! Congrats to the Irish, it's the first time since 1993 and the first time in the BCS era. Let's hope it lasts more than 1 week. Beat SC and book your ticket to Miami!

That's not surprising. I've always heard complaints that Chicago news media covers Notre Dame as if it were a hometown university. I have no idea why they do that. Even living here in Indianapolis I have a hard time finding news coverage of Notre Dame. Even Purdue and IU being so close, their football programs don't get a lot of coverage here. Basketball is a different story, though.
