Somewhere in Kansas City Charile Weiss is enjoying his quadruple bacon cheeseburger a little bit more than usual.

Oregon just lost out on a star CB to Notre Dame. If he wants to go play for that train wreck, have at it.

Good job Navy, it seems like they may start to be putting something together.

I dislike Notre Dame, but this is getting sad. College football needs a super, divisive team, like the Irish.

I dunno about Navy putting something together. Any of the academies is always going to have the same recruiting problem. Sometimes lightning will strike and they will have a season like Army did in '97 and go to a bowl game, but for the most part they are always going to be a group of overachieving athletes who execute an antiquated, difficult to defend, ball-control offense extremely well and step up to bust a big name's lip every so often. Navy isn't a joke, those guys play hard and don't quit, but they aren't building momentum for the future either. They are just keepin' on.

I never minded ND until around the 90's or so when their fans would complain bitterly about getting a "bad" bowl invitation despite having shaky seasons against very soft schedules. They would then lose by 30 in that bowl game and I think they lost something like 9/10 bowl games or worse through that era.

I think when they beat Hawaii a couple years ago it was their first bowl win in ten or fifteen years. They suck.

Yeah, even their fans were starting to get embarassed and the whining about deserving to be in better bowl games had gone way down.

It had been replaced by *ahem* racially insensitive and snobby comments about how ND was having trouble getting the best recruits because they were a good school blah blah blah.
