do I see a posibility of having 100,000 residents? I think so lol
I hope most of the annexations go through!

Anyone know the reasoning behind the "holes" we currently have. Like that dark green area south of Mumford road or the stuff north of Firetower or near Dickerson.

You would think it would be common sense to add those.

You can see where Greenville is targeting for growth. Winterville will put a southern border for Greenville. So it will have to go north.

Not sure if I've posted about the new Practice Gym for ECU basketball. But the link is to the brochure. Some of the highlights:

15million
Two story 48,00sqft
Will go on the north side of Minges (Railroad side)
Two gyms (mens and women) plus coaching offices and the ECU Hall of Fame, meeting rooms and locker rooms.

ECU Pirate Club (http://www.ecupirateclub.com/campaign/ - broken link)

Plus if anyone wants to contribute

When we lived in Greenville, we bought in an area outside the city limits. Most of the places I've lived have been outside city limits. It bothers me how easy it is in North Carolina for cities to annex nearby/adjacent areas. I believe a majority of the voters in the city AND a majority of voters in the area(s) being annexed should be required in order for annexation to proceed. Often (always?), areas being annexed get little or no benefit from annexation - and of course pay higher taxes (which is why the cities annex them, of course).

Update on the Intermodal Transportation Center:

Still going through the environmental/historical hoops. There is a "historical" house there that has to be taken care of.

Officially contact property owners to inform them about the intent to purchase land will occur in September

Acquisition process will begin in October and end in June 2012

The design process will end in December 2012 and the same month construction bids will be issued.

Construction bids will be awarded in March and the construction schedule will be done in April 2013.

just noticed a new SUBWAY today. It's in the recently constructed building next to CVS (across from PITT) at firetower and highway 11. This is the 13th SUBWAY in PITT county.

There are 2 just on ECU's campus and 2 more on 10th street within another mile or two.
