That will suck for a couple of years, but I assume the raised bridge will allow entry and exit from Greenville in case of major flooding like Floyd.

The Pitt County ABC Board wants to open a new ABC store and warehouse in the old Harris Teeter location at 14th & Charles. That’s actually a pretty good idea.

And a Dollar Tree is going in the former Dollar General building beside it.

Agreed. A Bottle shop in that complex could work as well since there is good parking and lots of folks within walking distance.

Kinda surprising that Greenville does not have more bottle shops in town. Then again, Greenville doesn't make it that easy for a bottle shop to open.

The new Coastal Fog behind where the ABC store will be is supposed to have alcohol on tap so there will be that in the vicinity.

What's old is new again...Uptown Greenville is going back Downtown.

https://www.reflector.com/news/local...3d2196b24.html

Quote:
On Tuesday, Uptown Greenville became the Downtown Greenville Partnership. Along with a new name, the organization is changing the direction of its work, said Jim Blount, chairman of the partnership’s board of directors.

“The change of direction with the rebrand from uptown to Downtown Greenville Partnership was driven by a downtown stakeholder board that focuses on achieving tangible results,” Blount said. “Our stakeholder board understands that if Greenville is going to be competitive in recruiting new businesses to our city we have to have a vibrant downtown.”

Blount said the organization wants to work harder on getting out the message of how much growth has occurred in downtown Greenville.

The Greenville ENC Alliance and Pitt Greenville Airport are making moves to bring Eastern Carolina more travel growth and connectivity:

The Greenville ENC Alliance and Pitt-Greenville Airport are working together to provide more growth and connectivity to Eastern Carolina by launching a survey that both businesses and residents can weigh in on to help make the demand for more reliable and enhanced air services known.

Greenville ENC Alliance CEO and President, Josh Lewis, says “Enhancing our air service will be a determining factor on how well our economy performs in the next ten years. Being able to recruit companies and being able to enhance and support our existing companies and their efforts to expand and bring more folks and bring more connectivity to the region.”

Just saw that Greenville will be getting a WAWA across from ECU Health. Going where the old Rite Ad was. They are taking bids for it as we speak.
