This seems like a project NCORR could help fund with their resiliency funding, since this is creating a more natural landscape and there is a stormwater component to it. Maybe the Mayor should be on the phone with the Governor's office instead of the legislature. They probably already have $10 million they can use from Hurricane Matthew funding.[/quote]
That is a fantastic idea.... You would have to think that has come up in discussion of the project...but you never know. You should share!
A second WingStop is coming in the Food Lion shopping Center on Stantonsburg Rd.
A Lowe's Food Grocery Store announced they will be building behind Chic Fila A off Firetower Rd in Winterville. They also announced 17 additional spaces will be attached to the development for retail/etc.. www.wnct.com
Nice to see Lowes Foods coming back. I was a Lowes fanatic until HT opened up across the street. The competition really put them out of business quick.
I hope they open something like the ones in Wilkesboro and Boone… they are niiiiice.

Great spot...across from Sam's Club. Surprised Harris Teeter didn't gobble up that spot after closing the 14th St store. Publix also could have went into that spot.
I'm still surprised no one has filled in that old Harris Teeter spot on 14th street. They must want an arm & a leg for the space.
A well known business website has it posted as $10 per sq. ft. for 31,000 sq. ft., minimum 10 year lease. Hopefully, that's negotiable. They'd probably do better leasing it out if they broke it up into smaller units.

The longer this goes vacant, the more I'm thinking this is going to get torn down and a "Jolly Roger" type development will go on that corner.
A Food Lion would work there but we don't see them expanding much anymore.

Utilizing/developing that corner and the corner across the street (the old pharmacy turn dollar tree) would bring the "city" to the doorstep of the university's athletics. Same goes for developing the corner of Charles and Gville blvd/Stratford arms. That is element the city doesn't have and I would think the university would welcome.
