Don't know if this will affect any stores in Greenville, but CVS announced that they're closing 900 stores over the next 3 years. Closures will begin next spring.

Happy for one of our own - Allen Thomas appointed regional SBA administrator, over 8 southeastern states.

I saw job postings for Mission BBQ, Greenville, NC. Anybody heard if they're opening a location here? The only thing I could find was a registration of incorporation, which only had it listed with a Raleigh address (assuming that's the owner's location?). No street address listed for Greenville.

Anyone know what they are doing at the corner of Bell Arthur and Us264/13? There cleared the land and now looking like they are installing some storm drainage.

There is a Mission in Jacksonville and Wilmington, so Greenville could definitely be next.

From the city council meeting the other day:

Alan Hamm received a special use permit to allow outdoor dining at a Mission BBQ restaurant he plans to open at 425 S.E. Greenville Blvd., which is the location of the former Cicis Pizza.

Beginning January 3, part of Staton House Road will be closed to thru traffic for 9 months due to a bridge replacement over Johnson Mill Run. Work is expected to be complete in September 2022.

Awful quite around here lately.... Any formal word on the Imperial development being nixed? At least under the initial developer... I hope they revisit the project/plan and find a new suitor! I was uptown on business around the holidays and notice the Taft Boxyard looked great. I know the taco place is going there but there is a second boxcar, perhaps an additional vendor? Happy new year all!

Yes, definitely a quiet time. But now there's some movement on the Evans St. hotel!

Construction on the hotel is expected to begin several weeks after demolition is complete. A groundbreaking ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 26, Adkison said. Construction should be completed by the summer of 2023.
