I saw this on PCSO's Facebook page:

https://www.nationalcivicleague.org/...itt-county-nc/

Yesterday the National Civic League announced the winners of the 2020 All-America City Award (AAC). Congratulations to Pitt County for being one of the ten elite winners from across our nation (and the ONLY county).

The National Civic League stated that, "Each winner demonstrated civic engagement practices that are inspirational, inclusive and promising in their ability to unite members of the community to collectively and collaboratively help solve our country’s most pressing and complex issues. This year’s winners focused specifically on enhancing health and well-being through civic engagement."

Specifically cited by the Civic League were the Local Reentry Council, including the SHARP and WEAR programs created by Sheriff Paula Dance, the Community Paramedic Program, and Farm and Food Council.

Unless they updated it again the way it reads is that PGV hopes to get it back but no guarantees.

Would be unfortunate for Gville.... perhaps this becomes the impetus for a regional airport in the east.....

More on the PGV airport.

"The Republican and Democratic congressmen who represent Pitt County on Tuesday urged U.S. House leadership to quickly extend payroll protections to ensure American Airline flights continue out of Greenville."

I just got the survey for the greenway and thoroughfare upgrades in and around UpTown/west Greenville. I hope that they can get all of these done and the roundabouts on 5th Street! Great improvements!
